皆さん、こんにちは！入社3年目の松田です。

2025年10月にマニラ地下鉄CP103作業所に赴任し、現場事務として総務・人事を担当しています。赴任2ヵ月後の12月に、初めてフィリピンのクリスマスパーティーに参加しました！日本とは違うフィリピンのクリスマスの雰囲気を、皆さんにもぜひ感じてもらえればと思います。

Hello everyone! I'm Matsuda, in my third year with the company.

I was assigned to the CP103 section of the Metro Manila Subway Project in October 2025, where I'm in charge of general affairs and human resources as site administration staff. Two months after my assignment, in December, I participated in my first Filipino Christmas party! I hope you can all feel the atmosphere of Filipino Christmas, which is different from Japan.

フィリピンでは、なんと9月からクリスマスモードが始まります！街中にはクリスマスソングが流れ、ツリーやイルミネーションが飾られ、国全体が祝祭ムードに包まれます。この約4か月間続くお祝いは、世界でも長いクリスマスシーズンとして知られるフィリピンならではの文化です。9月から12月までの期間は「バーマンス（Ber months）」と呼ばれ、英語の月名に"ber"が含まれることに由来しています。

In the Philippines, Christmas mode begins as early as September ! Christmas songs play throughout the streets, trees and illuminations are displayed, and the entire country is enveloped in a festive mood. This celebration, which lasts for about four months, is a uniquely Filipino culture known as having the world's longest Christmas season. The period from September to December is called "Ber months," derived from the fact that the English month names contain "ber."

フィリピンのクリスマスは、家族や仲間と過ごす大切な時間です。プレゼント交換や食事を通じて「絆」を深める文化が根付いています。この価値観は職場にも広がり、社員同士が成果を称え合い、モチベーションを高める重要なイベントです。そのため、各企業は趣向を凝らしたクリスマスパーティーを開催します。

Christmas in the Philippines is a precious time spent with family and friends. There is a deeply rooted culture of strengthening "bonds" through gift exchanges and shared meals. This value extends to the workplace as well, where it serves as an important event for colleagues to celebrate each other's achievements and boost motivation. Therefore, companies host elaborate Christmas parties with creative themes and activities.

当社では、12月18日にマニラ湾を一望できる絶好のロケーションの「Palacio de Maynila」で、クリスマスパーティーを盛大に開催しました。準備は現地スタッフで組織される実行委員会が中心となり、会場選びから食事・装飾・景品まで、年度開始の4月から入念に計画を進めます。

Our company held a grand Christmas party on December 18th at "Palacio de Maynila," which boasts an excellent location overlooking Manila Bay. The preparations were led by an organizing committee composed of local staff, who carefully planned everything from venue selection to meals, decorations, and prizes, starting from April at the beginning of the fiscal year.

当社のクリスマスパーティーには毎年テーマがあり、2025年は「デニム＆ホワイト」でした。当日、会場はテーマに合わせた装飾で彩られ、参加者は服装コンテストに向けて思い思いのコーディネートで来場しました。

Our company's Christmas party has a theme every year, and in 2025 it was "Denim & White." On the day of the event, the venue was decorated to match the theme, and participants came dressed in their own creative outfits for the costume contest.

総勢1,000名以上が参加し、会場は熱気と笑顔に包まれました。プログラムは、レクリエーションゲームや抽選会、社員によるダンスパフォーマンスなど盛りだくさん。会場は笑い声で包まれ、「絆」に満ちた活気ある雰囲気でした。

Over 1,000 people participated in total, and the venue was filled with excitement and smiles. The program was packed with recreational games, a lottery drawing, dance performances by employees, and much more. The venue was filled with laughter and had a vibrant atmosphere full of "bonds" and camaraderie.

また、フィリピンの祝い事に食事は欠かせません。伝統料理レチョン・バボイ（豚の丸焼き）をはじめ、スパゲッティやフライドチキンなど多彩な料理が並び、参加者はテーブルを囲んで笑顔で食事を楽しんでいました。

Moreover, food is indispensable for Filipino celebrations. A variety of dishes were served, including the traditional lechon baboy (whole roasted pig), spaghetti, and fried chicken, and participants gathered around tables enjoying their meals with smiles.

イベント終盤には、ベストドレッサー賞やダンスコンテストの表彰、フォトブースでの記念撮影、さらに当日編集されたハイライト動画の上映もあり、まるでライブイベントのような盛り上がりでした。最後はバンドの演奏で、歌とダンスに包まれ最高のフィナーレを迎えました。

Towards the end of the event, there were awards for best dressed and dance contests, commemorative photo sessions at the photo booth, and even a screening of highlight videos edited on the day, creating an atmosphere like a live event. The finale was absolutely amazing, with a band performance surrounded by singing and dancing.

こうした交流は、現地スタッフとの信頼関係を築く大切な機会となっています。私自身、赴任して間もない中、このクリスマスパーティーを通じて多くのスタッフとの距離を近づけることができました。フィリピンならではの長く華やかなクリスマス文化を体験し、改めて「人と人とのつながり」が会社にとって何より重要であり財産だと感じました。今後も現地の文化を尊重しながら、スタッフが「ここで働きたい」と思える職場づくりに努めていきたいです。

These interactions serve as important opportunities to build trust with local staff. Having just recently taken up my position, I was able to get closer to many staff members through this Christmas party. Experiencing the Philippines' uniquely long and vibrant Christmas culture, I was reminded once again that "human connections are the most important asset for any company. Moving forward, I want to continue respecting local culture while striving to create a workplace where staff feel "I want to work here."
